Today was Kyle’s first day of high school. High school. But first there was texting to be done. Then a god-mom-take-your-silly-picture smile and he was off. He said he did not need me to walk him to school. Bummer. I was even wearing my fancy pajamas. Paparazzi mom ACTIVATE!

Laissez-faire capitalism has ruined my posture.I am still reading Shock Doctrine and it is unsurprisingly making me crazy. I don’t even know what to do with this information. I shouldn’t read it before bed – Chris would most likely say that I shouldn’t be reading it at all. He’s probably right. My brain starts spinning round and then getting to sleep becomes impossible. Once upon a time – last week – the 5th graders watched “the video”. You know the one I’m talking about, the health video for boys and girls on “puberty and their changing bodies”. Oh joy. Consequently Chris and Kyle have been talking. Discussions about erections, birth-control, and wet dreams. I meanwhile have been sitting in the corner with my fingers in my ears singing lalalalalala.
